Nature is never far away at the Fruchttrauf: Schönbuch Nature Park is right outside the gates of Tübingen. Around Rottenburg you will find natural side valleys of the Neckar. And in the area around Mössingen there are protected meadow orchards and the mighty hillside forests of the Albtrauf. Here you can intensively experience and enjoy the unique nature, for example while bathing in the forest. Just slow down.

Orchard and forest bathing

Forest bathing comes from Japan and means immersing yourself in the silence and pristine nature of the forest with all your senses. At the fruit eaves, the typical regional orchards are included, an extraordinary natural pleasure!

Mössingen landslide

In 1983, the largest landslide in Baden-Württemberg occurred on the Mössinger Albtrauf. He left behind a primeval landscape from which a new piece of nature gradually developed. The unique landslide has been a nature reserve since 1988 and was declared a "National Geotope" in 2006.

Schönbuch Nature Park

The extensive Schönbuch forest is a popular destination for hiking and cycling enthusiasts. Dense, extensive forests alternate with forest meadows, meadow orchards and romantic streams. Wild boar, roe deer and red deer can be observed in various game enclosures.

Swabian Alb

Nature and people have shaped the Swabian Alb into a unique landscape that today accounts for a quarter of the area of Baden-Württemberg. A tropical sea created the impressive high plateau, whose edge, the Albtrauf, delights hikers with wide views over the Alb foreland.

UNESCO Geopark Swabian Alb

Discover the geological heritage of the Swabian Alb and the unique natural environment of the karst landscape: on the landslide in Mössingen, in the Steinlach stream bed in Ofterdingen or in one of the many show caves on the Alb. The oldest works of art in human history come from these caves and are exhibited in the palace in Tübingen.
